Your data Privacy is important

We are convinced that your data belongs to you and your data privacy must be protected at all costs. This is why we limit the collection and processing of your data strictly to your consent; in no case do we collect or process data for marketing purposes.

What Data we collect and process

Based on your consent, we will collect and process the following data: the website from which you visited us from, the parts of our website you visit, the date and duration of your visit, your anonymised IP address, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) and more. We collect and process this usage data for analytical purposes, i.e. to improve our website and to recognize and stop any misuse. Insofar as you voluntarily contact us, we will collect and process the data you have entered, i.e. your entered name, your entered email and your message. We will only use this data to process the specific contact request received via the contact form and might contact you via your entered data.

What technology we use

Based on your consent, we will use analytics cookies provided by Matomo, an open-source analytics service founded by Matthieu Aubry, which focusses on data privacy. Analytics cookies are small data elements that an internet server can send to your computer, thereby allowing it to be identified during your visit on our website and allow us to understand how our website is being used via the data described above. Matomo analytics cookies are: _pk_ref (used to store the attribution information, the referrer initially used to visit the website), _pk_cvar (used to temporarily store data for the visit), _pk_id (used to store a few details about the user such), _pk_ses (used to temporarily store data for the visit) and _pk_testcookie (used to check whether the visitor’s browser supports cookies). These cookies will expire and be deleted after a specific time; see retention periods below.

Which legal basis we use

The collection and processing of your data depends on your consent. In other words: Without your consent, we do not collect and process any of your data. Consequently, the legal basis for the collection and processing of your data is your consent according to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can change your mind at any time and, e.g. revoke your consent, e.g. by using our analytics cookies preferences manager. See your rights below. Please note that in some cases our legitimate interests may outweigh your rights, freedoms and interests. In such cases, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, the legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Do we transfer data to third countries?

Based on your consent, we will collect and process your data as mentioned above. This will only happen in the European Union, i.e. neither we nor Matomo will transfer your data to a third country or process your data in a third country.

We have short retention periods

In case you consented to the collection and processing of your data, we ensure that your data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage for analytics no longer applies, except in cases where we are obliged by law. With regard to data stored at Matomo, in any case, we delete this data after 30 days after initial collection. Matomo analytics cookies will be deleted as follows: _pk_ref after 6 months, _pk_cvar after 30 mins, _pk_id after 13 months, _pk_ses after 30 mins and _pk_testcookie immediately.
